First Steps in Python
In this introductory course for beginners, students will learn the basics of coding in Python. The course will focus on learning Python syntax, structure and parameters and then use the knowledge and skills to build two projects
Using the BSD Online learning platform, students will be guided through learning about Python basics like, variables, data types, conditional logic, math operators and loops. The first part of the course is designed to be self-guided with activities and practice with syntax and using the console. Then students will build a birth-date-to-now calculator and an encoder/decoder.
They will end the course with a tech portfolio of the projects they’ve created throughout the course, and will be able to use their new skills to move onto more complex projects in the future.
EXPLORE : Students will develop a fundamental understanding of the basic programming concepts in Python by working through a progression of 18 lessons and two projects.
Learn Students will be self-guided through a series of lessons and guided projects that teach the fundamentals of Python. After completing the lessons and guided projects, students will also learn how to add further customizations to their projects in sandbox.

FITZROY WORD SKILL 6A
This book is based on Reading, Spelling, Comprehension and Grammar. The activities are content based. This book comprises of A-N Sheets. The "A SHEETS" introduces a new sound or special English spelling pattern. The "B SHEETS" expand the vocabulary (drawing on special words of the corresponding story). The "C SHEETS" develop key points of grammar such as quotes comparison and parts of speech. The "D SHEETS" revise and go more deeply into the same grammatical topics as the C sheets. The "E SHEETS" are puzzles for early finishers and code-breaking exercises for enthusiasts. The "F SHEETS" consists of cloze exercises which test for recognition of key words from the story. The "G SHEETS" consists of comprehension questions about the corresponding Fitzroy story. The "H SHEETS" involves discussions, practical messages, composition of original stories , persuasive writing and editing of corresponding Fitzroy story. The "I SHEETS" extend the student's vocabulary by exploring synonyms, antonyms, homonyms and typical English turns of phrase. The "J SHEETS" support the spelling of the more difficult English special words by working with them in small families of eccentric spellings. The "K SHEETS" support a greater mastery of vocabulary by enabling students to change parts of speech within given sentences. The "L, M,N SHEETS" consists of grammar issues such as parts of speech , punctuation and gender.
FITZROY READER 51-60
Fitzroy Readers is a Phonics based reading Program developed over the last three decades in Australia. The Fitzroy Readers introduce new spelling patterns with each story so that children are able to decode the words for themselves. A box set of ten phonic readers, at grade five/six level and beyond. Fitzroy Readers 51-60 is the ninth and final pack in the series. Each reader in 51-60 introduces one or two new sounds, many of which are single-letter extra sounds, such as y in myth, o in won, and a in path. Each reader also introduces up to ten special words (sight words), including cello, vaguely and echoed. Students who can comfortably read this set are able to engage with general literature, such as magazines, newspapers and novels. We recommend using the matching Word Skills workbook with each pack of the Fitzroy Readers to provide a full literacy program. There are two Word Skills workbooks for Fitzroy Readers 51-60.
